Our operations team operated a charter flight from malaga to cape verde to provide a very urgent shipment for one of our customers.
A broken supply chain can be very expensive. Think of an AOG, a factory that is at a standstill or a ship that needs essential parts to be able to leave for a long haul. In this case, we got a request for an OBC from Amsterdam to Cape Verde.
With no cargo capacity on the next flights out and no passenger capacity either, we had to be creative to provide the best possible solution. The remote location and extremely short deadline meant that there was only one option available: a charter flight.
A charter from Amsterdam to Cape Verde turned out not to be possible at short notice. The only possibility was a charter from Malaga to Cape Verde. One of our On Board Couriers flew directly with the shipment as carry-on from Amsterdam to Malaga on a regular commercial flight.
After arrival in Malaga, our On Board Courier immediately boarded a Bombardier Challenger 604 charter plane. The bombardier was ready and waiting for the shipment and the OBC to fly directly from Malaga to Cape Verde. Our On Board Courier personally supervised this shipment during the entire process. The operations team managed to deliver the shipment in time on Cape Verde.
The interests of our customers always come first. That is why we are always looking for the best available solution for the customer in all aspects. Also from an economic point of view, because in the end it always has to make sense. When your daily operation always consists of “out of the box” thinking it’s relatively easy for our operations team to find the right solution that fits the customer’s specific needs.
